Chrissy Kovanda was born and raised in Shaker Heights. After graduating high school as a Red Raider Alumni, she went to Eastern Michigan University where she majored in Criminal Justice and minored in Sociology. After graduating college she took advantage of her degrees and worked in law for 10 years. During those years Chrissy worked as a paralegal for Whitmer & Ehrman and Dottore Companies, for a U. S. Trustee in bankruptcy court and federal equity receivers, Pepper Hamilton-Intellectual Property, Jones Day- IP Law, and KJK- Corporate, Securities and executive assistant to managing partner.
Although she had much experience and success with law, she always had a passion for architecture. At a young age she found herself inspired by the Van Sweringen brothers of Cleveland, Ohio. She decided to follow that passion for architecture and transition her career into real estate while using her background in law as an advantage. Her background in law plays a key role in helping her with negotiations in real estate, and helps her to be well-versed in contracts and detail-orientated.
Like her law career, Chrissy’s real estate career took off successfully due to her education, experience, and persistence to flourish. She then moved to Pittsburgh for 3 years and worked for a highly notable property management company, starting as a leasing agent and quickly advancing to a leasing administrator. Chrissy managed 25 agents, creating all leases and maintained a 165-unit property portfolio while working directly with the owner. After that, Chrissy began working as a Realtor at a brokerage specializing in luxury residential. This led her to The EZ Sales Team- top real estate sales team in Ohio.
With this background and experience, Chrissy focuses on high-end luxury listings, luxury rentals- (One University Circle), and new construction developments. She also frequently works with mixed/used space, warehouse conversions, and numerous condos sales downtown. She would love to eventually get into commercial real estate, as well.
Chrissy is an east-side and downtown specialist. She is expertly knowledgeable of Warehouse District, Tremont, Ohio City, Hingetown, Eco Village, Gordon Square, Detroit Shoreway, Midtown, and University Circle. Being a millennial that is passionate about the revitalization of Cleveland gives her an advantage of knowing and relating to the majority of the real estate market, and being an advocate to her clients.
In addition to being content and successful in her career, she does have some additional hobbies. She is a lover of Yorkies, with her own Yorkshire Terrier, Louie playing a key role in her social media. She enjoys practicing yoga and is passionate of nature, frequently taking the Cleveland Metro Parks trails. She loves fashion, and spending time with her friends & family. Chrissy uses ‘#urbansuburban’ for her brand, and works by her personal motto, “Selling Lifestyles Through Real Estate”.
