My name is Jerry Short and I have always had an affinity for the real estate market and what makes a house or apartment, a home. My hero growing up was famed architect, Frank Lloyd Wright. This affinity started when I was in middle school with my eighth grade art teacher who encouraged me continue my passion. I followed his advice and enrolled in the School of Design, Art and Architecture at the University of Cincinnati.
After 4 years of school I went to work in the field. I built houses in Houston Texas during the oil boom. I also worked in various architectural offices. Eventually I got wooed away from that environment by another passion, the world of computers. I went to work for Hewlett Packard and spent several years there. Eventually I decided to go off and run my own computer company and have been doing that for several years now. But my passion for architecture and what makes a house a home has never waned.
While running the business and raising a family, I’ve remodeled and restored a century home in Lakewood which my wife and I were living in at the time. I also flipped a house in Lakewood in 2007. A cute little 3 bedroom on Richland that just needed a lot of TLC. I ended up selling it to a young couple just starting out who were excited to get into their first home. That endeavor taught me a lot about the real estate market and the value of a good, hard working real estate agent. I plan on emulating her style and tenacity.
I currently own a home in Westlake and am looking to turn my business over to my son who works for me. This will give the time to devote to the real estate business and my passion.
